My name is Matt Bunting and I have a bunch of projects, though I'm mostly known for the hexapods that Intel purchased.

Jimmy Fallon Mentions my Robots, Intel CEO Brian Krzanich Controls them using Hand Gestures
This was at Intel Developer Forum 2015 in San Francisco. I thought the Jimmy Fallon monologue was lost to time but after looking through old footage on an old phone I discovered a copy!
I had to build 70 robots in three different models: my Dmitri, Nico, and Theo designs. These were all equipped with an Intel Edison and communicated over WiFi. All robots were 3D printed using a mixture of FDM, SLA, SLS, and PolyJet printing technologies.
This was a dress rehearsal for one of Intel's largest events at the time. This took place at the very end of the presentation. This was one of the most stressful events I ever helped put together but it all went off without a hitch at the end!

This video was originally uploaded in late 2016, but making it public from unlisted has made changed the publish date. This is a concept of orchestrating drones to create light paintings using VR painting tools for a 1:1 mapping to micro drones. This was filmed using only my iPhone in my living room, so the it is certainly a rough cut. There is still much work to be done to streamline the expor...

Using the rovers, objects are able to move freely around the stage to give a more unique and intriguing production. The problem with using rovers is maintaining a pr...

Intel Hexapod: Head Mechanism
Переглядів 8 тис.13 років тому
Website: www.12centdwarf.com Twitter: blegas78 This is a close-up shot of the head mechanism on my hexapod. The design is similar to a differential gear setup. The idea was to use three larger motors to operate a much smaller mechanism to achieve 3 degrees of freedom. Attaching three motors directly to one another would result in an enormous head/neck. The program running was used t...

I want to buy transmitter and receiver for my home made rc car can you help me?
I`m really amazed by your spider-bots but i`d like to know how did you interface the edison`s breakout board pins with the servo motors and camera
Hey bro, I can see from your name that you are Nigerian, I've been looking for a Nigerian into robotics I can work with. I've been building drones for a while and I now want to go into robotics.
Hello Matt Bunding! If you still visit this site, please let us know if you have scientific articles dedicated to your robot! Thanks a lot!
awesome man! You working on any new projects these days?
how to program?
Your spider inspired me 8 years ago to quit my job and get two degrees in automation and computer science. Never been happier now that I’m doing what i love every single day. Thanks a lot ⚡️
Oh wow I never thought I'd have that level of impact. I'm so glad to hear that you are happy with your change in career and that it continues to bring you joy for many years to come!

I THOUGHT X WAS JUMP BUT STILL ITS AMAZING...
Imagine saying this was a boring video?! Me procrastinating on homework to watch this video while slowly realizing I have no future lul
Tu for liking my 1.0 gpa lmao
@@rdpenguin2710 It gave me a good laugh! I never thought my boring video would garner this many views haha!
@@blegas78 it’s not boring! I spend a lot of time watching these kinds of videos. Maybe I’m the boring one lmao
@@rdpenguin2710 Typical imposter syndrome on my end, I'm pretty self-critical :). You definitely help motivate me to make more videos, hopefully I can help motivate you to build some robots <3
@@blegas78 you definitely have made me realize it’s possible. Granted I would be lying if I said I wasn’t disappointed I can only do it as a hobby and I’ll never be able to work on anything nice like u. Keep up the good content I’m stayin tuned!
8yeara ago 😲
Thought that said “Sexist controlling hexpod”
very nice
Are you going to try to make Nico lighter?
Where can i find this music please?
very good spider. but i wonder what a maker can do , how to change the knowledge into use for the world , how to change the very useful tech into money
Almost like he sold this to intel? (ಠ_ಠ)
Good job I also follow you on twitch
Nico looks like it needs a bigger tibia
Your hexapod Dmitri inspired me to build my own hexapod several years ago. I bought mx28 servos in late 2014 and designed most of the parts in solidworks. There was a hiatus of several years in between while i struggled getting a legitimate copy of solidworks. Now I have solidworks again and just have to finish off the tibia. I've based everything loosely off Dmitri going by eye from pictures and video and I must say, the tibia has been a real uphill battle. Just somehow cannot figure out a logical path to the correct shape. But it's the journey, not the destination!! So happy to see updates on this channel!
That's amazing to hear! There are a lot of pieces that need come together so it can take a long time. The journey is definitely the best part :)
@@blegas78 what would you recommend for someone wanting to get into robotics for as cheap as humanly possible? I’m in high school and can’t afford something that’s super expensive. I understand basic stuff, I’ve built drones from scratch so I understand how to solder. Ik how to program too (you could prolly infer that by my pfp) and Ik how to work with arduino IDE, ROS2 (sorta), and I understand networking (Comptia certified and stuff) but I can’t afford expensive servos and bluebirds or other cheap servos for RC (leftovers I had from building a tricopter LR) just don’t cut it. I honestly don’t expect to ever go into a field in robotics or even IT just a hobbyist. My point is for someone who isn’t brain dead to this kind of stuff, but needs to keep the cost down what’s a good intermediate bot to get started with? Or would you suggest I stay away from it as a whole?
@@rdpenguin2710 Great questions! Well unfortunately a bot like in this video gets expensive almost no matter what. 18xservos even at $20/each gets beyond most budgets. In that case it depends on what your robotics focus will be. If you are interested in path finding, then a 2-wheeled skid-steer robot will suffice. If you want to learn inverse kinematics, then you could make a 6-axis robotic arm. Most importantly, do NOT stay away! It's a super rewarding experience when things finally work. Limitations of budget are only a constraint, and often I feel creativity can flourish when there are such constraints. So see what you can do with what you've got. Maybe you can make a hexapod walk with only 3 servos and interesting-yet-inexpensive linkage!
Me gustaría poder hacer eso. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Ele sobe pelas as parede
Why do you need such an expensive Optitrack tracking system, when the lighthouse and some 0.01 cent IR photosensors will give sub mm accuracy?
That must be very expensive. 1 dynamixel smart servo cost about $50 .still it need 18 of them. So it cost about $900. And it still the motor. Not mentions the controler and the frame. May be it cost more than $1200
y they expenceive ?

do you think aluminum is better than carbon fiber for the body?

If I have spare time I’ll learn to build one. I’m wondering if you use higher tensile strength parts can it carry say 10 pounds and still have the same speed. Not like I want to add a miniature mini air soft or paint gun onto it but that’s a thought.
Can you share the 3d model of this model, I wanna make one, my email makakura@outlook.com.vn, Tks
